Workshop: Gas-lubricated bearings for hydrogen and high-speed applications

Thanks to everyone who attended the Gas-Lubricated Aerodynamic Bearings Workshop at Brno University of Technology! Organized within our aerodynamic bearing development, the event focused on advancing solutions for hydrogen and high-speed applications.

Presentation Topics Included:

  • Innovations in Bearing Kinematics & Material Permeability Testing – Jakub Janýška
  • Next-Gen Rotor Dynamics: DYNROT NG Software – Vadim Scerbina
  • Advanced Assembly Techniques for Quality Assurance – Henrich Klimeš
  • Addressing Imbalance in Bearing Systems – Gabriel Cabaj
  • Stability in Aerodynamic Tilting-Pad Journal Bearings – Jan Pokorný

The highlight of the event was the Jiří Šimek Silver Medal award, given for the best presentation as selected by the audience. Congratulations to Jan Pokorný for winning this honor with his work on tilting-pad journal bearings stability.

The day concluded with a tour of DynLab, the Rotordynamics Research Laboratory at Brno University of Technology. A joint project between BUT UMTMB and Inpraise Systems, DynLab focuses on rotor-bearing dynamics, structural dynamics, and vibrodiagnostics, collaborating with industry leaders to advance research and education.
